Watching a short video of squirrel monkeys can involve several taps on the pause button. One animal runs along a branch while another climbs above it, and suddenly it is hard to remember which one the eye was following. A replay turns the same few seconds into a different little route.
That lively, shifting scene is one way into Monkey coloring pages. Following a single animal for a moment makes the whole group easier to watch, especially when several paths cross. There is something absorbing about picking out one brief journey, then starting the clip again to see where a neighbor went.

Coloring Ideas for Monkey Pages
Try these creative ideas to make the most of your coloring sheets.
Plan a Different Back for the Striped Pillow
The striped pillow gives this sleeping monkey a small design project of its own. Keep the monkey a warm brown and try two soft colors across the existing pillow stripes.
On scrap paper, sketch the same pillow shape from the back. You could make that side plain, continue the stripes around it, or put one broad stripe through the middle. Look at a cushion at home if you want help deciding where a seam might go.
Place the two drawings together and choose which side you would turn outward on a sofa. A narrow strip of paper between them can stand in for the edge of the cushion, showing how the front and back meet.
Put a Small View in the Goggles
Keep both eyes visible while giving the goggles something to reflect. A brown monkey with a blue frame would leave the lenses clear enough for a few small additions.
You could put a narrow cloud near the top of one lens and a treetop near the edge of the other. Try the shapes on scrap paper first, making them much smaller than the eyes, before adding them to the goggles.
Choose one direction for both reflections, as though the same scene continues across the frame. A matching curve near each upper edge can tie them together. Keep the middle of each lens open so the monkey's expression still comes through.
Move the Pumpkin Car Along a Paper Road
This pumpkin car can become a small paper piece to move along a drawn road. Orange pumpkin panels with dark green wheels would give it a clear shape, while the monkey can stay warm brown.
Mount the finished picture on thin card and cut around it with a white edge, keeping the tail and wheels attached. On a separate sheet, draw a wide road with one gentle bend and a parking space at the end.
Slide the car along the road, trying the turn before making the route any narrower. The whole pumpkin moves as one piece, so the bend needs room for it. Add a stop sign beside the parking space when you know where the car can fit.
Draw the View Below the Balloon
Imagine the view below the monkey's balloon on a separate sheet of paper. A red canopy with a cream scalloped band would keep the printed balloon bright above the landscape you add.
Draw a winding river and a patch of fields as though seen from above. Small rectangles could stand for rooftops, with a narrow path joining a few of them. Set the river's bend before filling the gaps with more buildings.
Place that drawing below the balloon picture, leaving some open ground directly under the basket. If the river divides the houses, you could add a small bridge where the path reaches the water, giving the route a way across.
Reveal a Paper Trail of Magic Stars
The stars beside the wand suggest a little paper surprise for a pretend magic show. A purple monkey with a yellow wand star would make a playful stage character.
Draw a short row of stars on a narrow strip of paper and fold it back and forth. Tape one end behind the upper corner of the coloring page, near the wand, leaving the folded length free.
Hold the page upright and slowly pull the strip out from behind that corner. Let one star appear before revealing the rest, then tuck the folds back out of sight for another turn. Practice the reveal once before inviting someone to watch the show.
