A bear's shopping list is written by the season. For black bears, that can mean fresh spring plants, summer fruit, or berries and nuts later in the year. A keen nose helps with the search, though finding a meal still takes rather more work than opening a cupboard.
Bear coloring pages bring some of that outdoor bustle to the table. There is a certain pleasure in following an animal with such a practical set of priorities: investigate, find something worth eating, and investigate a little more. A berry patch is hardly a small discovery when lunch depends on it.

Coloring Ideas for Bear Pages
Try these creative ideas to make the most of your coloring sheets.
Make Labels for Berry Sweet Farm
'Berry Sweet Farm' already has its name on the sign, so the little containers on the stall can carry the smaller information. You could add a strawberry symbol to a label or mark one container with a tiny price, if its front has enough room.
Red fruit and dark green leaves will make the strawberries easy to pick out from the bear's brown coat. The small white flowers can keep their paper centers light against the foliage.
Choose whether the containers are all the same size or different offers by the way you label them. One berry on a small label and two on a larger one can suggest the difference without fitting long words onto the stall.
Borrow the Fabric of a Favorite Teddy
Soft brown with a cream tummy keeps the stitched construction clear. Use a firmer brown along a few seam edges if you want those joins to stand out from the flat fabric areas.
A well-loved teddy often has its own unmistakable fabric. Borrow one detail for this stitched bear: a cream muzzle, a darker paw pad or the worn color along a seam. A toy at home can be a reference without every part needing an exact match.
The bow can have a different history from the bear. You could give it the color of a ribbon from a present or a piece of clothing, as though it was added later.
Choose Two Icing Designs for the Cookies
Give the hearts and stars two different icing designs, as if this were a batch being made for a small get-together. The printed cutters and the shapes on the dough provide the same two outlines, so the designs can carry across the whole work surface.
Decide which design would be easiest to recognize on the tray from a little distance. A bold star outline can survive a small cookie size better than a crowded collection of tiny sprinkles.
Pink hearts and yellow stars will show up clearly against pale golden dough. Small dots or a thin border would be additions you draw onto the cookies, rather than extra shapes to cut out.
Put a Drum Design on the Bass Drum
The wide face of the bass drum is the natural place for a design. Try one large lightning bolt, a circle of dots or a short band name of your own. Center it on the drum rather than squeezing it between the metal stands.
A band name can be only one word. If the lettering starts to get cramped, give that word a gentle curve that follows the drum's round edge, with room between the first and last letters.
Red drum shells and a gold cymbal can give the kit a bright, classic look. Leave the center of the bass drum pale so your added design is readable from across the table.
Add a Garden Under the Swing
Start with the little flowers already growing below the swing and decide what sort of garden should continue around them. You could add a few more of the same simple blooms near the tree, leaving the space directly beneath the bear's dangling feet open.
A green canopy with yellow and white flowers makes a sunny corner, while the wooden seat can share the brown of the trunk. Keep the rope distinct from the bark where it wraps over the branch.
Vary the height of any flowers you add. A low cluster by the trunk and a taller stem toward the page edge will feel more like a growing patch than a straight border.
