Usagi has school to deal with and a talking cat named Luna who brings a rather larger set of responsibilities. She is hardly the picture of effortless elegance: clumsiness and tears are part of her charm. The magical transformation may be dazzling, but the girl inside it still feels reassuringly human.

That mixture of schoolgirl life and moonlit glamour gives Sailor Moon coloring pages their particular charm. There are sailor collars and sweeping transformations, with romance woven through the adventure. Even the idea of a helpful cat comes with a complication: Luna can actually answer back. An ordinary pet suddenly seems much less demanding.

Coloring Ideas for Sailor Moon Pages

Try these creative ideas to make the most of your coloring sheets.

Give Usagi's Crescent a Little Shine

The large crescent curves behind Usagi's hair buns, giving this portrait its own moonlit setting. A little metallic paper would suit that broad shape without covering the expression or the heart on her bow. Small torn pieces are easier to fit into the curve than one large cutout.

Try pale yellow for the moon and a deep blue sailor collar, with pink on the bow. Gold or silver paper can then supply a few bright patches along the crescent.

Use just a little glue and keep the pieces inside the moon's outline. Leave the narrow tips as they are; the shine can sit in the wider middle, where there is room to press each piece flat.

Choose a New Color for the Sailor Bow

A blue collar, red bow, and golden hair give this front-facing portrait a familiar Sailor Moon look. For a different outfit, try a lavender bow with a purple collar while keeping the round chest ornament gold.

The large bow is a useful place to begin a costume idea. Someone with a favorite ribbon at home can lay it beside the page and use it as the starting point. The printed folds already give the bow its shape, so there is no need to draw another one over it.

If the ribbon is long enough, tie it into a real bow afterward. It can become a hair accessory for someone who wants a small piece of the outfit to wear.

Let Usagi Hold a Familiar Teddy

Bring a favorite teddy to the table for this one. Usagi is holding her bear close, with one hand across its middle and the other arm underneath. The little bow at its neck makes it look ready for a visit.

Match the bear to the toy beside you, whether that means honey brown, cream, or a well-loved gray. A pink bow on the bear can echo Usagi's heart-shaped brooch without making their whole outfits match.

A special patch or stitched initial on the real teddy could be added to the pictured bear. Choose one recognizable detail that fits on its tummy or paw, keeping it clear of Usagi's hand. There is no need to copy every worn spot.
